Originally from Dakar, this student came to Canada to gain new cultural experiences while pursuing a program she’s passionate about:

“I’m in my fifth semester of Computer Science Technology and currently working for a major government office. I had heard great things about Cégep Limoilou’s IT program, so I applied—and I’ve never looked back. It’s not about the school’s size or prestige, but what I experienced firsthand. In IT, practice is key. Once I entered the workplace, I realized just how useful my training had been.

I have a great relationship with my teachers. They’re open and available to answer questions—not just about school, but about life in Québec and even personal projects. The CEGEP also offers a dedicated support system and social media group for international students. There are activities like apple picking and Christmas dinners that help us connect and share our cultures.

Thanks to the Work-Study Alternation program, I’ve been able to combine my studies with paid internships in my field during breaks and holidays. It’s boosted my work experience and independence. I have no regrets—and I would definitely recommend Cégep Limoilou to any future student.”
