"A friend of mine was part of the Cheminots volleyball team at Cégep de Saint-Jérôme. Since I wanted to keep playing volleyball while pursuing my studies, I chose to enrol at that cégep.

When I arrived in August 2015, I started in the Tremplin DEC pathway to take my science refresher courses. I was then accepted into the Natural Sciences program, where I studied for one semester. I love science, but I’m also passionate about literature. So I redirected my studies toward the Arts, Literature and Communication – Journalism and Communications option. I’ve been in that program since fall 2016, aiming to graduate with my DEC in May 2018.

In addition to Sport-Études, I’m a writer for L’Étandard, the cégep’s literary and arts magazine. This extracurricular activity lets me explore my passion for writing while being surrounded by skilled teachers and other students who share the same passion. Several of them have really influenced my time here so far.

I really appreciate the teaching approach in Quebec’s education system, especially how available and supportive the teachers are.

After completing my DEC, I’d like to study either political science or philosophy at university. I’m not sure yet if I’ll continue here or return to France.

Living in Quebec helps me get to know myself better. This experience has been so positive — I’m really glad I chose to study here!"
