ACS Accounting Principles and Related Computer Applications (RAC)

Recognition of Acquired Competencies (RAC) is a simple and personalized process. It can be completed at your own pace and, most importantly, it allows you to avoid relearning what you already know. It is designed to assess the skills and competencies that adults have developed outside the classroom through professional (work) or personal (life) experiences. To be admitted to a RAC process, you must meet the admission requirements of the cégep where you submit your application.

Admission requirements and registration procedures vary from one cégep to another for AEC programs offered through the RAC process. However, you should expect to provide certain documents, such as a birth certificate, proof of education (secondary school diploma, college diploma, etc.), transcripts, a comparative evaluation or foreign diplomas (if applicable), a résumé (CV), and other relevant documents.

For individuals born outside of Canada, you will need to provide proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent residency.

It should also be noted that the main steps followed as part of the RAC process are the same for everyone and always begin with an information session, either individual or group-based. This information session is provided free of charge by the cégep.
