ACS Group Management and Work Organization (RAC)
About the program
Recognition of Acquired Competencies (RAC) is a process for assessing skills and competencies that adults have developed outside the classroom, through professional (work-related) and personal (life) experiences. All relevant and significant competencies are eligible for recognition, whether they were acquired in Quebec or elsewhere, regardless of where the learning took place. However, to be recognized by the Ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur and to qualify for a college-level diploma (ACS or DCS), these competencies must correspond to those covered by a college program offered by a CEGEP.
The RAC process provides personalized support tailored to your profile, with guidance from professionals trained in RAC at the college level.
The process takes place at your own pace, according to a personalized schedule that can be combined with a full-time job.
This pathway can help you avoid taking or retaking training for which you already have the required competencies.
Above all, it is a streamlined and flexible way, adapted to adult learners, to earn a college-level diploma (ACS or DCS), opening the door to employment opportunities, greater chances of career advancement, or improved salary conditions.
For full details about the program you are interested in, offered through the RAC process and leading to an ACS, please visit the websites of the institutions offering the program, using the information provided further down this page.
Condition of admission
To be admitted to an RAC process, you must meet the admission requirements of the CEGEP to which you are applying.
Admission requirements and registration procedures vary from one CEGEP to another for programs leading to an ACS and offered through the RAC process. However, you should expect to provide certain documents, such as a birth certificate, proof of education (secondary school diploma, college diploma, etc.), transcripts, a comparative evaluation or foreign diplomas (if applicable), a résumé (CV), etc.
For individuals born outside Canada, you will need to provide proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent residence.
It should also be noted that the main steps of the RAC process are the same for everyone and always begin with an information session, either individually or in a group. This information session is provided free of charge by the CEGEP.
To learn more about the steps involved in the RAC process, visit the RAC Process page on this website.
