ACS Special Education Techniques (RAC)
About the program
Recognition of Acquired Competencies (RAC) is a simple and personalized process. It can be completed at your own pace and, most importantly, it allows you to avoid relearning what you already know. It is designed to assess the skills and competencies that adults have developed outside the classroom through professional (work) or personal (life) experiences. If you are interested, please contact the institution(s) listed in the section below.
Condition of admission
To be admitted to a RAC (Recognition of Acquired Competencies) process, you must meet the admission requirements of the college where you submit your application.
Admission requirements and registration procedures vary from one college to another for RAC pathways leading to an ACS (Attestation of College Studies). However, you should expect to provide certain documents, such as a birth certificate, proof of education (high school, college, or other diplomas), academic transcripts, a comparative evaluation or foreign credentials (if applicable), a résumé (CV), and other supporting documents.
If you were born outside Canada, you will be required to provide proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status.
It is also important to note that the main stages of the RAC process are generally the same for all applicants and always begin with an individual or group information session. This information session is provided free of charge by the college.
