Guitar Making

Guitar makers receive and evaluate customer orders, consult technical documents, design different models of instruments, select and prepare materials to be used, make templates, moulds, supports and manual tools, fashion, plate and thread the different parts of an instrument, assemble and tune components and sets of components, do any finishing work, repair, maintain and tune instruments.
In most cases, their work can often be broken down into the following process: design a product, ensure availability of materials, accessories, tools and equipment, prepare the workshop for production, make and assemble different components, ensure quality control, exhibit, sell and deliver musical instruments and carry out administrative tasks related to production.
The skills acquired as part of the program enable graduates to work as instrument makers in different sectors of activity and evolve as independent professionals. Instrument makers work either under the supervision of a seasoned instrument maker or a music store manager. Some are self-employed and work either alone or in partnership with other artisans.
