About the program
Program objectives
This program trains individuals to become business management technicians.
These technicians are responsible for managing retail stores or supervising sales teams in retail businesses or companies.
Retail managers work mainly in retail stores, wholesale stores, or in companies and businesses specialized in the sale of products and services. They can be self-employed or salaried employees and hold positions in either small, medium or large businesses. Retail stores generally hire them to work as managers while wholesalers, industries and specialized businesses often hire them to be sales team supervisors.
Business management technicians are generally mandated with managing sales staff, achieving sales objectives, promoting/marketing products and services, buying merchandise and ensuring customer service. In addition to managing a retail store or sales team, they can also be required to sell products or services themselves.
Business management technicians must demonstrate versatility and autonomy, and be able to adapt to different work environments. Skills acquired through this program will enable them to use the tools and methods involved in processing business data, information on the current economic situation and legal elements related to marketing. These skills will also enable technicians to communicate effectively in various work situations. Skills related to management process, promotion and industrial trade will be developed as well.
