"I arrived in Quebec in August 2017. I settled in quickly, thanks to the support of other international students and the Cégep. I found my bearings fast — both at the Cégep and in the city.
I chose Thetford for its location in southern Quebec, halfway between Quebec City, Montreal, and Sherbrooke. That said, public transit is not very developed. But one of the upsides of the location is that it's less cold here than in cities farther north! The cost of living is also lower than in other cities, which matters when you're a student. Thetford is not a big city, but it has all the services you need — perfect for adapting to a new country.
I was lucky to quickly build a circle of friends and connections, both locals and other internationals. I love the Cégep de Thetford because it’s human-scale. The staff and teachers are kind and approachable, which makes it easier to connect with people."
